UX Designer (4 Day Week)

Our client is a well-established software house based in the heart of Belfast. Having recently transitioned to a 4-day week working model, they are currently recruiting for a UX / UI Designer for their team.

The UX / UI Designer’s role is to work with Product Managers, Architects and Software Developers to design user interfaces which simplify complex problems and provide an attractive and user-friendly experience for our customers, allowing them to self-serve and optimise their use of our software.

The successful candidate will have an eye for clean, simple design and be able to translate high-level user flows and wireframes into functional and intuitive user interface designs. The initiative to make decisions based on solid understanding of user behaviour and a deep understanding of usability best practises is key to success within this role.

The Role

  • Plot user journeys and design user workflows
  • Refine low level wireframes into clear user interface designs
  • Provide input to inform intelligent product design and UX workflow
  • Design features for UI and command-line interfaces in line with style guides and technical constraints
  • Collaborate with developers and provide guidance to help them implement features and solutions
  • Work as part of a larger Customer Experience team that spans across products, to ensure consistency in both presentation and functionality

Key Qualifications

  • A curiosity to learn and a desire to help others
  • 2+ years of UX designer experience in a software development environment
  • Experience using Figma (or equivalent software) for designing and prototyping designs
  • Strong background in full end to end UX lifecycle
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum-based environment
  • Enthusiasm and passion for sharing knowledge with others
  • Knowledge and experience of enterprise software and/or big data is desirable


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
