Enso Recruitment is working with one of NI’s leading Fintech companies to recruit for a Senior Software Development Manager to manage to the quality and development of the core product suite.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Senior Software Development Manager will be responsible for managing the Software Development Teams with accountability for the overall software development life cycle.
The Day-to-Day
Responsibilities:
People management of the Engineering team including personal and career development
Instil best practices for software development and documentation, assuring designs meet requirements, and maintaining code quality across all teams.
Manage engineering department level escalations and impediments
Oversee resource allocation in line with Company work priorities.
Oversee provisioning of access and tools
Work with product managers/owners in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for the business that helps meet the company goals
Work closely with Architects and Senior Engineers to develop the best design and approach for new product development.
Work with Scrum Masters and Project Management on prioritisation, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
Translate business requirements into solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines with optimal solutions.
Instil operational excellence, supporting monitoring and operation of production services

The Role
The Senior Software Development Manager will play a significant role as part of a wider leadership team. You will drive team performance through product delivery to meet business needs. You will develop effective teams of skilled professionals providing direction and coaching of agile working practices. You will build strong relationships engaging with peers and other colleagues working to common purposes from within the IT function and the wider business. You will be expected to understand the business needs and lead your team to support delivery of the Product Roadmap.
Experience building and leading large-scale Agile Engineering Team(s)
Experience managing multiple engineering teams through Software Development Managers
Experience setting a strategy for resource capacity planning across multiple engineering teams
Experience setting the future direction of an engineering team
Experience building highly scalable production software
Experience working with senior stakeholders
Expertise in mobile and web-technologies
Aptitude for problem solving, with the ability to apply logic and experience to assist with the development of solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
