Field Engineer to work with an array of clients across NI to advise on their infrastructure capability and upgrade this where necessary. Nice role – consulting but still very hands-on.
We are working with a gem of a local company that is growing steadily and making significant waves in the technology consultancy and digital transformation sector across the UK and Ireland. The company is in a growth phase and has immediate requirements for a number of experienced IT Field Engineers who are customer-facing, consultative and commercially-minded. The company provides comprehensive software and business solutions to a wide variety of clients, including several well-known ‘household names’. They offer their own fully customisable and adaptable core product which can be scaled to suit the requirements of any business from SME to Blue Chip and they are making a big impression in this sector.
This person will work closely with the software development, implementation and support teams in terms of spending quality time on-site with clients across Northern Ireland and auditing their current infrastructure capabilities, making recommendations on upgrades and purchasing decisions prior to the installation of the software product suite.
This is a key role and covers aspects of managed services / consultancy as well as hands-on infrastructure engineering. The role involves installation, configuration and support of a broad mix of infrastructure kit, but with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies.
We are looking for a pro-active individual with strong communication and organisational skills. You will have a broad interest in all things IT, keep your eye on the horizon in terms of new products and processes, and understand the importance of effective IT systems in the successful running of all types of businesses. You will enjoy the challenge of building relationships with clients on-site and will be comfortable in making recommendations and advice on what is required to optimise their systems. We are looking for the following:
- Third level degree in a relevant discipline
- 3 years’ relevant IT installation and configuration experience
- Full, clean driving license and willingness to be on the road (locally) around 80% of the time
- Willingness to continue learning and develop your technical skills
- MCSA / CCNA
